Ronnie McDowell was rushed to a hospital over the weekend, following an onstage medical incident that took place during his performance at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley, Pennsylvania on Saturday (June 21). Early in McDowell’s set, the 75-year-old country singer began to slur his words, causing his concerned manager to talk to the him on stage, where Ronnie reportedly told him that he thought he suffered a stroke. His manager stopped the show, with McDowell immediately being taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. Updates on his condition were provided by his son, Tyler Dean McDowell, on Facebook, where he shared that following an MRI and a day of care in the hospital, McDowell was discharged and taken home to rest and recuperate. McDowell, known for hits like “The King Is Gone,” “Wandering Eyes,” and “Older Women,” has been in the music industry for nearly 50 years. (Billboard)
