He was better than I could ever imagine every step of the way.” The singer-songwriter described this return to the stage as a “new beginning in every way,” expressing gratitude for the chance to start anew. On June 8, Smith was allegedly involved in a fatal accident that claimed the life of 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins, who was struck by Smith’s Chevrolet Silverado while crossing a Nashville crosswalk. According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the “preliminary contributing factor” was Smith’s failure to yield to the pedestrian, though no charges were filed. (People)
