Daniel was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2018 and given only five months to live, but he has continued to defy the odds despite multiple surgeries and recent tumor discoveries. Aldean, known for his ongoing support of cancer causes including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and breast cancer research, expressed admiration for Daniel’s spirit and promised to remain in touch because, “We’re buddies now, right?” (Taste of Country)
